Allow URL connection
Drew DiPalma
Hi Roman – Interested to hear about your use case for this. It's not currently on our roadmap, but we can certainly track interest. Depending on what you're working on we may also have some suggestions for you in the short term.

Drew DiPalma: Hi Drew, we are working on a mobile server version for Webstrates (webstrates.net) and Codestrates (codestrates.org) for various scenarios including business meetings, pocket servers for collaborative document editing, and educational use (K-12 education & undergrad+grad teaching).
We are the maintainers of both projects, Webstrates and Codestrates

Roman Rädle: Hi Roman - Sounds like a compelling project. What is the case for opening a URL connection to MongoDB Mobile for this project (vs. working with the Mobile database through the application using the Stitch SDKs)?
Roman Rädle
Drew DiPalma: Our server code is written in JavaScript and uses NodeJS and sharedb. Both require URL connections in JavaScript. Any idea how that could be accomplished with the Stitch API?
Drew DiPalma
Roman Rädle: Makes sense – If we provided a JS SDK with support for MongoDB Mobile would that also fit your use case?
Roman Rädle
Drew DiPalma: Yes, that would work. Ideally, it shares the API with MongoDB's native Node.JS driver

Any updates on the API? :)
