Stitch Folders for Functions, Values
Drew DiPalma
Hi Folks!
As part of our upcoming re-brand of "Stitch" to "Realm" we'll also be migrating our feedback forum and joining the rest of MongoDB at feedback.mongodb.com, as part of that transition, we'll be shutting down this forum. We're still keeping track of this feedback and all of the related comments/discussions, but all future updates will be made here:

Would love this functionality. Would improve organization greatly, as functions are widely used in our app.

+1 for folders for functions and values etc.
As my application starts growing bigger it's getting harder to track things down. It would be nice to put things into folders such as...
Customers
- getCustomer
- getAllCustomers
- updateCustomer
Orders
- getOrder
- placeOrder
etc.
Then maybe you could call them like so...
this.stitchClient.callFunction("Customers/getAllCustomers")

Hi Ed – This is an interesting thought. We've talked a bit about better role-based access control for Stitch (and I'll update the thread when we have a clearer idea of when that may come). On Folders, do you simply see this as the easiest way to split up functions/values/etc for access, or is there an additional reason why you would like to see this in Stitch.

Drew DiPalma: Its primarily organization but security would be a huge win for us. (Functions are greatly used so the list is getting long) Right now there are values and functions that we let the client have access to for customization. Folders would allow us to to direct the client to a folder location for editing. And if there was a permissions based lock on those folders I would help ensure they don't alter the code code in out stitch solutions. Without this solution I was going to write an API that would write to those values/function that the client would use so they don't have direct login access to stitch.
